What we can update you with, for those of you who haven't been able to get on the game with is some of the features we have seen and played around with.
The homes that you start out with have two rooms. A living space including: a bed, a fridge, a microwave, counters, a phone, a chair, a desk, and a computer. And the other space is a bathroom with a sink, a toilet, and a shower.
When you interact with people for the first time you have two choices, either a friendly introduction or a rude introduction and from there it is all your own. It's not hard to become friends with someone and only takes a few energy (unless you want to pursue a relationship with them and then it takes a few more and their consent to enter the relationship).
When you buy objects, there are three ways to buy them: with the money you earn in game which are the gray, blue coins which are life points, and the gold coins which are the real money bought form of sim cash.
So far, other than the obvious server overload, the game seems to be perfect. It's even better than all our hopes and hopefully you'll enjoy it too. Keep checking in for more in depth features and continue to be patient while the server works itself out.
