Having both FREE! items and Premium items is no surprise to anyone who has played any form of Facebook social game in the past, and within The Sims Social this will be no different. After all the game developers need to make some money to keep the game running and to the best it possibly can be. We just hope EA don't get greedy like Zynga and other rival companies have in the past, from what we can see so far the premium items look very reasonable to us.
The Sims Social money will be split into Silver and Gold Simoleons. Silver being the FREE! currency and Gold will most probably be given after levelling up your character with XP and by purchasing via Facebook credits or with real life money.
If we go by the screenshots, these Sims have lots of both, however we don't think this will be the case for the average Joe. So what can you buy with your virtual Simoleons? Clothes, Items, Building Materials and Personality Traits (Which we'll look at later this week) The first Premium Items shown to us are a selection of shoes ranging from $19 - $47 and individual Premium floor tiles at $1 each. Compared with your Silver FREE! currency of 350 - 900 shoes and 20 - 30 floor tiles.
Are you worried that you won't be able to pay for Premium Items due to not having your own credit card? Have no fear, we know that the developer Playfish have pre paid cards that can be purchased at your local game retailers and supermarkets. We'll have more on this when we know it!
