Game and Building Interface

We've waited for a long time to find out how The Sims Social will play. Luckily for us, the nice chaps at EA and Playfish finally provided us with some screenshots to show us what to expect.

Here we see the first shots of The Sims Social game interface. In brief the design doesn't look too dissimilar to other games previously seen on Facebook. You have your available balance at the top and XP in the top right. You also have an energy bar which will refill over time or bonus energy can be found by completing certain actions or achievements. This will stop constant play and adds the replay ability factor. What is a mystery to us though is the light blue Sim icon in the top middle of the image?

Throughout the game you will be required to complete missions and achievements to gain additional special items and boosts. (These can be seen down the left hand side) These usual consist of collecting items from friends and under taking certain tasks or buying particular furniture to planting tree's and plants. Your house value is shown in the bottom left just below your Sims avatar (Which we guess shows your Sims current mood) With the usual social media friends list scattered towards the bottom of your screen. What is interesting though is the 'Craft' button? Will we be able to bind two items together and build our own furniture. This would indeed be an amazing feature!

Now to the building interface. It doesn't seem like The Sims Social will deffer too much from previous PC Sims titles here. As you can see your building categories are split into Special (Rainbow?), Shop, DIY, Storage (To save those precious seasonal decorations you just don't want to throw away) and Energy. Then Doors, Windows, Floor Tiles, Wallpaper and Terrain? What is interesting however is the 'Featured' items which can be unlocked by gaining XP. What will these include and what differentiates them from regular items? One feature we are happy to see is the full screen mode. Let's hope The Sims Social Facebook game doesn't fail like so many others by slow, laggy gameplay.

Thanks for following our inside look into last weeks producer video, only one more topic to go. Remember that we are just the fansite and all information for the moment is just speculation. Let us know your thoughts at our Facebook Page or our new Twitter Profile.
