Here is an EXCLUSIVE look at what we believe to be the newest Skill Item to drop for 2012. After Christmas, Littlehaven will gear up to celebrate the start of 2012 with a huge New Years party and the 'RekTek Karaoke Machine' will be one of the key items available.

Everyone will be happy to know that the RekTek Karaoke Machine will carry a Simoleons price tag, but we advise all players to start saving if they want to see in the New Year by singing Simlish down a microphone, as we're told the price will be around 32,000 Simoleons and will raise House Value by +11,590.


It seems as though we have two more weeks of Christmas themed updates to come before The Sims Social will start to drop many Disco / Nightlife items for the New Year including this featured Music Skill Item. Please remember that like all Unreleased Items featured on The Sims Social Fansite that we cannot guarantee this item will ever be released or details may change as the developers can always change their minds or relegate the item, but this has not happened so far.

This weeks Mystery Limited Item has been released at a cost of 129 SimCash. The price for the new 'My Ice Lake' may put many players off which is understandable but this Ice Skating Rink has its Pro's and Con's.

If you purchase the My Ice Lake you will see your House Value rise by a massive 19,050. The interactions however are not so big or impressive with only one interaction available for the owner of this frozen puddle, 'Skate For Fun' will raise your Sims 'Fun' need and will show your avatar gliding around the ice like a prince with a great animation, they will even perform a spinning pirouette.



Neighbours can also enjoy the 'Skate For Fun' action which drops the usual amount of Social Points plus Simoleons but will have the option to 'Show off Moves' which will gather both Neighbours by the pond while your Sim shows off their best Torvill and Dean impressions.



Overall the My Ice Lake has some great animations but it is let down by its limited actions and rewards, of which it drops nothing except an occasional 'Buzz'. We would also have liked to see another need filled as well as 'Fun' to warrant the 129 SimCash price tag. All in all this Ice Skating Rink is an attractive item and will fit wonderfully in any home in or out of the holiday season.

Ice has covered Littehaven and The Simch has made it so that all of this weeks items are of the frozen variety. With 52 frozen items added to The Sims Social store, what should be a sure fire buy and what should be set aside?

There really isn't a lot of new items that will add benefit to your The Sims Social gameplay this week and we feel although the theme is a strong one, unfortunately the items provided are not as strong as they could have been. The best of this weeks icy furnishings can be found in the Bathroom and Garden as unfortunately the Kitchen and Bedroom items seem a little too similar. Here is a run down of the 52 new ice themed items this week:










The ice themed items we have chosen to be the best this week are the Pola-Ice Igloo which will not tickle everyone's fancy due to its rather high SimCash price tag but it looks brilliant and aside from raising your House Value by a staggering +16,100 it will also raise three needs including 'Fun', 'Toilet' and 'Sleep' it however lacks in the animations and sound department. The Pola-Ice Dbl Beds comes in either blue or pink and for a very reasonable 2400 Social Points they will make it so your Sim will never get too warm in bed or have to turn your pillow over to the cool side.



Our final two Fansite Picks this week were given to low cost Garden decorations that add no benefits but will help to make your festive The Sims Social house a little more festive. The ColleXion Pile-o-Snow will top your icy floor with beautiful bubbly snow for only 100 Social Points and the Black Thorn Bush is one of only a few plants or trees that is topped with the fun glistening white stuff we all love at Christmas.

The Simch has cast an icy spell over Littlehaven this week and Bella has had to decorate accordingly, but does she have any good ideas and tips to inspire you to replicate the same icy palace? Bella has kept many items from last weeks Christmas cabin theme like the Loguinn Hot Tub, Build It Holiday Tree and Holiday Stove but given the rest of her pad an ice cool refresh.

The main focal point this week is the Pola-Ice Igloo that can raise 'Fun', 'Sleep' and 'Bladder' needs, we will provide a full review within the next couple of days. We love Bella's cosy and small abode and especially how it gets redesigned every week without going too far overboard, if you want a home like this it would cost around 285 SimCash, 3310 Social Points and 17,000 Simoleons to replicate this chilly residence. These prices only include New Winter Wonderland Items that have dropped this week. This is the cheapest Bella design for the past two months.

When you first began your life in Littlehaven, your home started out with this basic 6x8 room, some of you may still have this room size but decorated and added to it and some of you may have deleted it and opted for something bigger or chosen something with just the four walls.

Previously, if you sold your original 6x8 room it meant that it was unfortunately gone forever and the option was not at the time available to purchase a new one, until now. In The Sims Social Store>Build>Rooms you will now find the original 6x8 room to purchase for 15,000 Simoleons which additionally to granting the room will add +15,000 to your House Value.


This addition has been asked for by the players of The Sims Social online Facebook game and we are happy to see that the developers at Playfish have listened and granted our wishes.
